HealthTwiSt GmbH specializes in „genetic contract research“ and biobanking for translational medicine, providing support in the fields of Functional Genomics, Proteomics as well as evaluation of Functional Food/Nutriceuticals and Cosmeceuticals.

The HealthTwiSt-Register comprises a pool of twin probands, allowing recruitment of genetically informative probands for prospective studies with preselection based on clinical and genetic data on the basis of a proprietary twins and family databank. The HealthTwiSt-Biobank for retrospective analyses contains samples and phenotypic data, mainly for the cardiovascular and metabolic system. Due to well-established contacts, data sets can be extended sequentially.

HealthTwiSt offers its service for design, methodological development and organization of clinical-genetic studies in the fields of Functional Genomics, Pharmacogenomics or Proteomics. While both monozygotic (MZ) and dizygotic (D) twins are informative in terms of heritability analysis, DZ offer unrivalled opportunities for linkage and association analysis, MZ are unique in the study of epigenetics.

Based on its proprietary database framework, HealthTwiSt provides services in data management with web-based systematic and customized storage and administration of study data, well suited for investigator initiated studies.
